We believe in the power of stories

We believe that great stories have the power to heal, the power to liberate, the power to illuminate, and perhaps most importantly, the power to create real and lasting joy.

Great stories have always been the lifeblood of our shared human condition, a primal source of community, a powerful conveyor of knowledge, a bridge to empathy, compassion and human understanding, and a source of comfort and solace in the face of pain and uncertainty.

This is not a revolutionary notion, and we are not revolutionaries. We are proud servants of the story. We are facilitators, conduits, builders who offer sturdy backs and steady hands to help lay the bricks and hammer in the nails.

The amazing advancements of technology have given us incredible new tools to aid in this effort. But we recognize that technology is merely flash and spectacle if not used in service of the story. We seek to master these new tools and put them to use, to advance the medium and help connect stories to people in new and exciting ways.

We reject standard notions of hierarchy and control and instead seek to build a culture that celebrates and nurtures collaboration, excellence, respect, humility and integrity. We do this by putting the creative process first and structuring all our operations in support of that process. We are in fact a corporation, but at heart we are a collective of like-minded collaborators working together toward a common goal. We seek to empower filmmakers to entertain and enrich audiences, and if we can achieve that goal we believe the rest will take care of itself.

At the end of the day, we are trying to catch lightning in a bottle. The only way to succeed in that effort is by committing to it, and by turning that commitment into a methodology that informs every task we undertake, no matter how large or small. We recognize that our chosen medium is both ephemeral and enduring, that any great film is equally a product of rigorous, disciplined collaboration and magical, idiosyncratic vision. We are all here because we have been touched in deep ways by the magic that occurs when that perfect balance is achieved; we are inspired by it, we believe in it and we are ready to do the work necessary to capture that magic and give it back to the world.
